Google Chrome

Google started their Google Chrome project saying that fast speed was an important reason they wanted to create it, but — What version of Internet Explorer was slow? I googled "browser benchmark" and in this benchmark from last month, the reviewer claimed that these days, all browsers are supposedly about the same speed. If your uncle had been running IE8 or IE7 then that might have been the problem with certain websites. Comet Tuttle (talk) 20:04, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know about the redlink! It was a redirect when I created the hatnote, but someone deleted it, so I recreated it as an article.

Video thumbnails

I don't have time at the moment to do this — I'd be happy to when time permits — but googling video thumbnail came up with 518 million results, and I'd be confident that there's a relatively reliable source in the first 100 pages of Google results for that search. If you don't want to do it yourself, you could create the

video thumbnail article as a redirect to the thumbnail article, and then mention on the thumbnail talk page that this ought to be in the article, that you've created the redirect, and add a request (there on the talk page) for a knowledgeable editor to add the section as appropriate. Thanks! Comet Tuttle (talk) 18:31, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply

web page has expired

I just installed Windows 7 with IE9 and notice a problem like you once reported. I edit any article, I do 'Review' and see the resullts. Next I use my 'back button in the upper left of my Explorer window. I next recieve the 'web page has expired' panel. If I continue on, I lose whatever changes I made to the article that I have not yet saved. Did you find a solution to this expired problem? Thanks. Hmains (talk) 00:09, 1 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ANI comments

Regarding your comments at the above page, it would help to know if you are discussing a specific real situation or a theoretical one. There is a group at Wikipedia:WikiProject Accessibility which tries to deal with such issues, and I am one of the early joiners of that group. If you are discussing particular real circumstances, though, send me an e-mail and I can see if there is anything I can think of which might help. For theoretical concerns, maybe asking a question at the Accessibility project for broader response might work best. John Carter (talk) 21:50, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply. I read what you had to say and I appreciate it. I also read the comments of Maproom, but now I'm flummoxed again. Except for the comment that it didn't explain the notability of the subject (an error I will take care of), all the rest of it reads as if the original declined version is still sitting within Wikipedia. I've been looking at the most recent version of the article submitted here (and declined by Excirial) but the errors pointed out to me by Maproom don't exist within the preview page of what I'm seeing. There is no syntax error causing any conspicuous Error Message and the references are showing up at the bottom of the page as they should. Additionally, there is nothing showing the subject as the author of either this article (he isn't) or within the reference sources. Perhaps someone should have the webmaster take a look-see for "ghost copies" of the older version, which shouldn't exist? I will make the 'notability' change and resubmit, as everything else pointed out to me, simply doesn't show up when I call up the PREVIEW PAGE of my last and most recent attempt. I will also relay this to Maproom. Thanks everyone! Stivemeister (talk) 20:44, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Stivemeister[reply]
