Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Frostbite (game engine), it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Please stop replacing engine version numbers with their build date. This isn't the same thing. -- ferret (talk) 17:09, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thats their actual version number, u can check the file that comes with some of the newer games called Info_Win64_retail.BuildSettings in Anthem you can find this: const char* g_frostbiteRelease="2017.7"; Wannkunstbeikor (talk) 20:02, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Those are the internal build numbers. Not the version numbers (the general level of the engine) as reported by reliable secondary sources. -- ferret (talk) 20:02, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
idk how something from the actual game data can not be the actual version number of the engine if its even written there in text Wannkunstbeikor (talk) 20:04, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The build date is also in there, its not the same, Frostbite changed their versioning a while ago Wannkunstbeikor (talk) 20:03, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You go find a reliable secondary source that says FIFA 23 uses Frostbite 2021.2.0 and I'll consider. Reliable secondary sources report that FIFA 23 uses Frostbite 3. The actual internal version number is not reported and generally unimportant to the reader. -- ferret (talk) 20:05, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How would i cite a file that gets shipped with the game? Wannkunstbeikor (talk) 20:08, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You don't. Because I said "reliable secondary source",
WP:SECONDARY. A file shipped with the game is a primary source. -- ferret (talk) 20:09, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply

Okay Im not going to change them then, tho the version numbers are just misleading, since the difference between fb 2013 and fb 2020 is even bigger than fb 2 and fb 2013. Wannkunstbeikor (talk) 20:12, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Btw EA hasnt talked about Frostbite 3 for a while now, I also looked at some of the sources for the newer games and couldnt find anything about Frostbite 3 on those, and Frosbite 4.0 doesnt exist even tho Fifa 23 now says its 4.0. Even on the source thats linked for Frostbite 3 on the Fifa 23 page there is not a word of Fb 3 Wannkunstbeikor (talk) 20:24, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I please ask you to remove the 4.0 stuff, bc thats just completely wrong and hurts my eyes Wannkunstbeikor (talk) 20:35, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
