Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to

talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four halfwidth tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. WarrenOutsky, Why do you keep removing any mention of high interest rates as aiding the rise of structured settlements? What evidence do you have that high interest rates had an effect is irrelevant or false? On the history page you give "unsourced information". So what? Wikipedia has lots of unsourced information. There are even *entire* articles with no sourced information. More important is whether or not what appears on Wikipedia is *true*.

I worked for a life insurance company in the early and mid 1980's in charge of pricing structured settlement annuity contracts. I was well aware of the level of interest rates competitors were using, too. I spoke to claim adjusters who were well aware of (1) the appeal of deferred payments vis-as-vis lump sum settlements, and (2) the effect of high interest rates on deferred payments. My adding higher interest rates is solidly based on my personal experience.
