Please help me with... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyndburn_Borough_Council_election,_2016.
For the past few years 'I' have been editing the previous 2015,2014,2013---etc summary-local-election pages, as quoted above. But I've always found it 'difficult', when dealing with the ELECTION-RESULTS-MAP-INSERT, to keep pace with the changing 'how to [method]s' of taking a copy of a previous electoral-ward-map (.svg - based on a prior OrdinanceSurvey Blank-map) and using some-kind-of online .SVG editor to Paint-Fill/Replace the various RED/BLUE/OTHER ward-winners' party colours and to then re-upload 'that' version back to the target wiki-page ... as it's not the sort of thing I 'do' on a day-to-day basis, and I also didn't take any how-to-notes the last time I 'accidentally' stumbled across a one-off-method.
I just want to take a copy of - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyndburn_Borough_Council_election,_2016#/media/File:Hyndburn_UK_local_election_2012_map.svg
and then to re-upload it as - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyndburn_Borough_Council_election,_2016#/media/File:Hyndburn_UK_local_election_2016_map.svg
... after (of course), changing the lower-left BLUE (St Oswald's - kinda looks like 'FLORIDA/ITALY') ward to RED, a Labour GAIN from Conservatives, as every other Ward (except that ONE !) remained UNCHANGED in that 2016 Local Hyndburn Borough Council Election.
Any help - Pointers - Step-by-Step Guides, would be GREATLY appreciated ;)

Hyndburn Borough Council election, 2020
Hi Warren,
I'm a Hyndburn resident myself and always make sure to take a look at these pages. I was surprised to learn that there still wasn't a 2020 one as you're always on the ball with it every year. I today discovered that the page has been rejected twice! What on Earth is going on? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wojturski1912 (talk • contribs) 17:15, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
(WARREN HERE ...) - the wiki person's whom have been randomly-assigned-to-oversee 'this' draftpage, have "declared" that it's TOO SOON to publish such a page --- I've tried to tell 'em I've been doing THIS for over TEN YEARS (deaf ears !), where about a week/fortnight/month AFTER 'this' years election, I start working on 'next years - based on the results of the previous 3yr-old ward results" +++ again (deaf ears)
PS - I've just recently noticed that 'whoever/3rd party' edited the map-results for 2016, missed off paint-filling in St Oswalds (lowest LEFT corner of the map - looks like "Florida") as RED / they made it blue, instead //// and I'm currently trying to raise the point with WIKI's own "inhouse common picture editing/cleanup service .... TBC"
Completely beats me why they're giving you hassle all of a sudden. It;s just stupid red tape if you ask me. Stand strong and don't let them beat you!
P.S I think I know the lady who is standing in Rishton, where did you find the source for her standing? Wojturski1912 (talk) 14:01, 9 March 2020 (UTC)
(WARREN AGAIN) I was told on Sunday evening, right after watching the Derby match, at the Rishton Tory club - that JODI had posted it herself, barely an hour-earlier on Facebook that 'she' had just been chosen / on Int'l Womens Day, as the next Rishton LAB candidate, HOWEVER "she" was also referring on her Twitter feed to Kate Walsh also being chosen for 2021's Lancs County Council elections, not this May-2020's - I'm waiting for confirmation, of which is which ...

HELLO - Back in 2010 "I/TheAuthor" was just a Local Volunteer, stuffing leaflets through letterboxes, I was also an IT-Expert [B.Sc.(Hons) Computing], so I tried to GOOGLE past election-results to familiarise myself with Historical Local Election Results ---- there weren't ANY --- So, I "copied" the wiki-template for a Neighbouring Borough Council (Burnley) for our first HYNDBURN-Wiki election-results page (making a few design-improvements of my own ...), and I later contacted our Local Electoral Offices, introduced myself - gave them a WebLink to the 'new' Hyndburn-wiki and "asked" them for copies of "past election results (they gave me a DECADES-WORTH of handwritten records, taken from their own archive/attic) ...... and I dutifully went to work "back filling in" EVERY Hyndburn-Borough-Council Local-Election Result (In doing so, I actually FOUND an error in the Council's own "Written records", and I alerted them to it / THEY were very grateful ...) going back to the last/most recent 2001/2002 Electoral Boundaries Commission 'review', which had effectively REDUCED the previously-47-seats worth of Ward-Councillors, to a smaller number of only 35-seats for each 'new' Hyndburn-Electoral-Ward. Later on ... a "third-party" initially made the addition/revision of a "RESULTS MAP", slotted into the top-right-corner of each page, from the 2010-record onwards / which I have kept / and where 'third-parties' actually 'edit' paint-fill 'IN' the changing ward-results-colours (as I'm not really much of a "paintShop-PRO" guy, myself).
EVERY YEAR SINCE,,, "I" have continued to "dutifully/ and without bias" transcribe the results of EVERY Local Hyndburn Borough Council election, without except - and ALWAYS with the (grateful) consent of 'our' Local Council Electoral Officers (FREE OF CHARGE) +++ 20-years worth of COMPLETE/Verified records, and counting, without exception.
- Hello Warren. I think you may have missed the point on the proposed deletion of this article – the elections aren't going to happen anymore. In most cases, the 2020 articles were moved to 2021 titles. However, as you had already created a 2021 article, this wasn't possible. As a result, the 2020 article is no longer needed. Can you restore the proposed deletion tag on it? It will save having to have a full discussion on deletion (which I'll be initiating if the tag isn't reinstated). 2021 Lancashire County Council election
Hi Warren
Thanks for your work on the 2021 Lancashire County Council election article. I've wiped the results, because they haven't happened yet, but because of the form of the template the colours of each party has to remain. This isn't ideal, though it's the best solution we've got! doktorb wordsdeeds 17:30, 12 March 2021 (UTC)
- SURE, NOT A PROBLEM *Doc* ... BTW , I really liked that ==Council composition== BAR - so I borrowed/stole it, to retro fit my local Hyndburn Borough Council Local Elections-pages ;)

- Hello, back in 2010, I started putting together "ALL OF THESE" Hyndburn Local Borough Council pages (using the neighbouring Burnley Council's existing wiki-pages as a template) ... and have continued to maintain them, consistantly (with some upgrades and improvements along the way, made by myself AND OTHERS!)
- -> back in 2010, I also contacted my local council offices and they were able to "dig into their paper-archives" and they were kind enought to send me copies of ALL the past election-results and handwritten-records, going back to 1999/2000, and thus I was able to ALSO "back fill in" the missing-wiki-pages for those previous years, free-of charge(!)
- ... it has only been "THIS YEARS" submission which has been treated with such distain/suspicion, from 'whomsoever' is supposed to be in-charge / people who apparently have NO IDEA that this latest wiki-page, is just the latest in a VERY LONG LINE of already well established and CONSISTANTLY laid out, unbiased content.
- --- back in 2012/2013/2014 I myself stood as a local council candidate (though never elected) and therefore I know exactly what the content-material entails, and even though "I stood for one local party", these past-previous pages have been welcomed, celebrated and even double-checked/updated by "members from the other local parties", and even by former Local MP's, who know me well/personally. I am still on a first-name-basis with employees at the local-council's elections office, and I tend to get my information 'directly from the horses mouth', whereever possible - instead of 3rd party sources ... I can't tell you how many times the local press, whilst trying to "live report" the election-count results, have routinely mis-reported the right-numbers for the wrong candidate, and vice-versa (!) on the day. And I always "run it by them" at the Hyndburn Elections-Office, whenever I've crafted the latest WikiPage.
- Therefore, can "whomsoever it may concern"/those in charge at wikipedia INC./ please be so kind as to "leave this page (! and next years!) well alone, and to leave some kind of note-on-your-system for the attention of the next-group-guys, to simply "read the exact same, 2022 > 2020 > 2019 pages etc ... (it should only take 5-10mins of their valuable time) to INSTANTLY SEE that these pages are simply ""more of the same", and are CONSISTANTLY SO (!!!) --- as I don't want to have THIS KIND of aggravation, year-on-year / again-and-again-and-again-and-again-and-again-and-again ...
- > if "whomsoever" have any ACTUAL legitimate questions, please feel free to "ask ME" directly (!) --- BTW, the actual local election [the subject of the aforementioned wikipage] is to be held in just TWO DAYS TIME, on Thursday, May 4th (please - no Star Wars references!) but the count won't take place until the following Friday-morning (they stopped doing counting-on-the-night in Hyndburn, many years ago, just to save local taxpayers the overtime-costs).
- Thanking you in advance,
- W., the original-author (since 2010) Warrenlm (talk) 10:50, 2 May 2023 (UTC)

2024 Hyndburn Borough Council election
Hello @Warrenlm - you have reverted my edits on the 2024 Hyndburn Borough Council election. Your edit summary suggests that you think I am overturning long-established formats and protocols; I am not. Please look again at the changes I had made - the main thing I had changed was that the page was (and now is again following your reversion) written so as to show the results for this election which has not yet happened. The section of "Local Election result" is populated with seat numbers. I can see that these are actually pre-election figures, but that isn't what you've written, having explicitly introduced them as "after the election". I had therefore commented out that table (which you do by putting <!-- and --> brackets around the bit you don't want showing on the live page). The table was still there in the background, such that once the results are known it can be easily filled in and brought back onto the live page. I had also taken out the "Labour hold" / "Conservative gain from Independent" etc. wordings after each ward, which were clearly copied over from last year, but aren't yet known this time around.
Also, in the main infobox the convention is that we include all parties which hold seats either before or after the election, so that we're maintaining a neutral point of view and not focussing only on the two largest parties if others also hold seats. I had also clarified some of your wording to make it easier to read. None of this detracts from the considerable effort you have put in over many years to these Hyndburn election pages. Rather, it is intended to build on the foundations of what you'd written, but to also ensure that we're taking into account best practice and standards of neutrality informed by other UK local elections pages.
