A tag has been placed on Quantone, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See
    Wikipedia:FAQ/Business
    for more information.
  • It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See
section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable
    .

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by

require disclosure
of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

Last but not least: All contributors must not contribute content that violates conflict of interest laws (just as all contributors must respect copyright). The

Unfair Commercial Practices Directive is valid throughout the European Union. In a German court decision in 2012 (that also relied on the directive) regarding Wikipedia: "The court held that when a company edits a Wikipedia article, the resulting text falsely creates the impression that the edit has no business-related purpose. By implication, the judges found that the average reader of Wikipedia articles expects to find objective and neutral information." That is a very very important condition, comparable to the FTC Guide
" that consumers are likely to believe reflects the opinions, beliefs, findings, or experience of a party other than the sponsoring advertiser”. This expectation by consumers of neutral information on Wikipedia, requires that companies not write "their" WP articles for PR/marketing purposes.

Editors who are compensated for their contributions should make the disclosure by placing the {{connected contributor (paid)}} template at the top of the talk page of affected articles and filling in the parameters. They should also supply this information as part of a list on their user page of all their paid contributions.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing, and autobiographies. Thank you.Deb (talk) 13:33, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Quantone

Your first tip would be to check the userpages to make sure that you leave your undeletion message with the right user - you asked User:Star Mississippi to undelete the article, when I was the one who deleted it. Since there is no relationship between Star Mississippi and I beyond being editors for Wikipedia the message went unnoticed by me until yesterday when I stopped by to check his talk page to see if there had been any messages for me, at which point I saw you message.

Secondly, you failed to file a

move request
for the page which should have been done in this case to make sure everything got from point a to point be correctly. Admittedly, this is not to big a problem, but I now need to know if you copy/pasted anything from the Decibel article. If you did, then we need to a history merge, otherwise its all good.

Third, the article at its current title is misnamed - it should be at Quantone, which is locked for editors but not for admins. If I had seen your message sooner I would've unlocked the page to facilitate the move for you. I can address this later if need be though, I just need to do some more research into this so I can catch up with everything written here and verify it.

The final thing I now need to know is if you are being paid to edit the article. I ask only because the article was originally worked on by a person who was paid for his or her effort, and if you are being paid as the other editor was then that must be disclosed ASAP.
