File source problem with File:BenFranklinPic Intellitar.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:BenFranklinPic Intellitar.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on

Intellitar Page
- From user talk:ikip
Hello,
I see there has been further discussion for the speedy deletion of the page for Intellitar. Compared to the first version of the page, what's on it now is far and away a much better page. The first one literally had 3 paragraphs and one reference, while this one has the appropriate layout for what it is with 6 references. Also, after I've completed and sent this message I'm adding a seventh reference, which lists a magazine article featuring a cover story on what an Intellitar is. If this page still requires further improvements afterward please let me know.

- First of all go to My preferences >> E-mail options and enable e-mail, then email me, so we can discuss this off-wiki.
- With any term, if you type: {{Findsources3|Intellitar}} you can find sources for an article:
- Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- I can find any sources using this, and there are only 70+ hits on google.
- I look at some of your sources, and they could be better.
- I am going to userfy this article for you, which means I will move it to a user-subpage User:Zinc5000/Intellitar. There you can continue to work on it, with less threat of deletion. But you need to find better sources (magazines, newspapers, etc.) or it will always be at risk for deletion. Ikip 00:38, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
- Looking forward to that email. I will explain everything ;-) Ikip 01:54, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

I am emailing you now.
I need to make you aware of
Jack Merridew is editing Intellitar because he had some disagreement with me in the past (namely I attempted to get him rebanned for hounding), and Jack Merridew has a history of
- "There have been repeats of similar behavior--many of them. None of them is individually outrageous. He does not bait me or you--he baits those susceptible to it, and is, I must admit, very skilled at this."
I guess I am an editor who is "susceptible" to Jack Merridew's hounding.
On wikipedia there are several rules that editors must follow, which are unequally enforced. Generally, the more friends you have, the less the rules apply to you. Some of these rules include no personal attacks. What editors will do is they will hound (follow) and bait other editors hoping to get the other editors angry. Then they can report them to administrators, who have the power to block them. In a broader context, since bullies tends to support other bullies,
Jack Merridew's has publicly supported meatpuppetry (he gave another editor a reward called a barnstar for their public support of meatpuppetry). "Meatpuppetry" is the recruitment of editors as proxies to sway consensus, in this case, the deletion of references you provided in this article. I would not be surprised if Jack Merridew is emailing editors about this article.
Future perfect is a supporter of Jack Merridew. He threatened to block me if I talked about Jack Merridew's hounding again. Future perfect was criticized for trying to silence me by another admin more powerful than him.
So, it is my fault that Jack Merridew and Future Perfect are now criticizing the article you wrote. It is not by chance that of the 3 million articles these two editors found this article and decided to focus on you.
Eventually either one of these editors will put your article up for deletion again. So it is imperative you find sources. I am sorry you are being used as a pawn in a situation which has nothing to do with you at all.
Again, keep in mind 3RR. Ikip 12:58, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
- Hi Zinc5000, please excuse what I consider the fair use which applies only in article space. Jack has been working on the cleaning up of images (all kinds of images) on Wikipedia for months now and is a good person to ask for advice in this area. - Josette (talk) 21:48, 14 January 2010 (UTC)]
- Zinc, I sometimes notice people mentioning my name as part of an argument, & if this happens, I prefer to speak in my own voice. I am not an expert on images, but I certainly know something so basic as that the images discussed below can not possibly be kept in WP unless there is an article to put them in, or unless you get permission for them-- which might be possible. If you can establish an article on the company, it will justify the logo, but the example of their avatar will still be difficult to prove as being necessary. I think they might be convinced that it would be good to give a license for it -- see our FAQabout businesses & organizations. That will solve the problem.
- As for the article, you will be able to have it kept in Wikipedia if, and only if, you can find reviews or clear references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. Until you have these, it's basically impossible. If you do, and add text to give a base for the references to what they say, it should be possible. I've sometimes been able to help articles like this, so if you want me to look at a draft, let me know on my talk page. DGG ( talk ) 00:14, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
