Ahmed Ali (born 1998) popularly know as Wegz, is an Egyptian rapper.[1] Wegz's rap mixes EDM trap, shaabi and mahraganat styles.[2]

Career

Wegz was named Spotify’s most-streamed Arab artist in MENA.[3] His 2022 song ElBakht song peaked No. 14 on the Billboard Arabic Hot 100.[4]

In 2022, he released Ezz Al Arab (“The Glory of the Arabs”), as part of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and performed at half-time of the competition final on December 18.[5] He also performed at the 2022 Red Sea International Film Festival.[6]

Wegz had five nominations at the 2022 ‘Best Male Artiste in Northern Africa’, ‘Song of the Year’, ‘Producer of the Year’, ‘Artiste of the Year’ and ‘Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Contemporary.’[7]
