Wikipedia is not a soapbox; an advertising platform; a vanity press; an indiscriminate collection of information; or a web directory. It is not a newspaper. The bare fact that someone has been in the news does not in itself imply that they should be the subject of an encyclopedia entry. Notability refers to whether or not a topic merits its own article. Article topics need to be notable. This article is not notable and contains little to no information. - Keep Not seeing the issue here that the nominator brought up. There's no advertising or vanity within the article, and as the quarterback of a D1 team, the notability is there. Also seems like from the name of the nominator and the deletion of the subject from the subject's own high school article (the account's only contributions), there's a bit of chatter) 01:54, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
