  • delete All I can find is that he was awarded the Navy Cross. Unless that is an automatic grant of notability under a special notability guideline, he does not appear notable based on coverage.

Thanks for this. I think we have to apply at least some selectivity on the members of the Byrd expedition, otherwise we may end up building pages for the expedition's cooks and janitors. That said, perhaps he did something on the expedition that went beyond being a mechanic.
