Wikipedia:Articles for improvement/Next Week

Source: Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

This page contains a checklist for all the things that need to be done before a set of articles is selected for TAFI.

  • The article is
    nominated
    .
  • If it meets opposition or does not receive considerable support, it is archived as unsuccessful by a bot.
  • When the article receives 3 supports, it is moved to the
    Holding Area
    by a bot.
  • After a week, users in TAFI vote 3 of 10 articles in the Holding Area.
  • The winning article is then allotted a place in the
    schedule
    by a user (formerly a bot). Occasionally, there will be a tie in the voting and two articles will go on schedule.

Once in the schedule, the following things need to be done before the batch of articles is ready for the Main Page-

  • One picture is selected to represent the articles. The picture is placed beside the articles in the Schedule.
  • A one-line blurb for all the articles is prepared for use during the week.
  • The week's subpage and its subpages are created, for transclusion on the main page. This is the current week's subpage.
  • The WikiProjects and authors associated with the article are informed of the TAFI process for the article.
  • The protection tag from any protected articles are removed by an admin a day before the articles go live.
  • A bot tags the {{
    TAFI
    }} template on all the selected articles.
  • The {{
    TAFI picture box
    }} template is updated with the current picture and caption for the week.
  • The articles go live on the Main Page under the TAFI section.

After the week has elapsed, the following things will be done-

  • A user removes the {{
    Former TAFI
    }} template to the talk page of the articles.
  • The schedule for the week is archived, and the next week's schedule is brought at the top.
  • Selected articles which saw major improvement go through the
    Article Collaboration
    process for being further improved.
