Yeu Ninje

  • Could I have my username changed to "Yeu Ninje"? It's a more accurate transliteration of my actual name. User:Yu Ninjie 07:08, 17 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Brazil4Linux

  • Please change my account from "Mateusc" to "Brazil4Linux". For Anonymity purpose, I don't want use my name/initials here in the wikipedia. Thanks --Mateusc 17:29, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'm here confirming my request, thanks for advisory in my talk page. --Mateusc 14:59, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Jacqui

  • I don't want to use my full real name anymore. Could I simply be User:Jacqui? --Jacqui M Schedler 16:02, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • This feature has been temporarily disabled. However you can change your signature under preferences. Secretlondon 16:33, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
      • There's a message on my talk asking me to confirm, since this is up and running again. For the record, yes; I'd prefer being User:Jacqui around here. Jacqui 13:33, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
        • Unfortunately, we already have a User:Jacqui, although they haven't made any contributions. If this is your account, please log in and confirm. If not, you might like to be Jacqui M or Jacqui S, both of which are available. Warofdreams talk 14:02, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Russell E

  • If/when the suspension is lifted, I would like to change my username to "User:Russell" because my current name is an embarassing hangover from when I was younger and stupider ;-) --Rkundalini 13:47, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • User:Russell exists but has no edits so we can't rename you to that. You can suggest a different name - or just change your signature in preferences. Secretlondon 14:02, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
      • Sorry, it did not occur to me that a user could exist without a user page. Could I please have User:Russell E then? --Rkundalini 01:49, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
        • As requested in the talk page, I confirm that I still would like my username changed as requested. --11:24, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

Danny Yee

  • Please move "Dannyyee" to "Danny Yee" - I didn't realise spaces were possible when I signed up! -- Danny Yee 09:40, 12 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Just to confirm I'd still like this done. (I assume it won't break any of the existing links/signatures.) -- Danny Yee 13:47, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

DVD+R/W

  • If I can ask for a 500 editday present, it would be to change my user name to user:DVD which is taken but unused or user:DVD+R/W. Where I can link the R to my contribs and the W to my talkpage. I would rather do that as DVD and do the fancy links with my signature preferences

Come to think of it, I will change it. Just so I don't get blocked off another RfA for a lame excuse tha5t my name is on borderline policy. I'll just have to spend an entire day changing a whole bunch of links. Sorry about the confusion! Molotov (talk) 06:53, 19 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ann Heneghan

I have felt uneasy for some time about using my real name on Wikipedia, especially since I edit on some very controversial subjects. I have also had some very nasty threatening messages sent to my talk page, with hints of finding out my real address and sending me a letter bomb in the post. (These messages came from anonymous IP addresses, and from users who created the accounts specially to target me. In all cases, they were promptly blocked.) Also, my RfA is just coming to an end, and will almost certainly be successful, unless I get about seventeen oppose votes in the next fourteen hours. And I have noticed that admins get a lot more threatening messages than ordinary users. I would like to changed my account name from Ann Heneghan to Musical Linguist. I'm not aiming for 100% anonymity. I will inform the other users who edit on the same pages, though in some cases I may inform them by private e-mail. I just think it would be a good idea to have more anonymity than I have at present.

I know that admins are supposed to say that they're admins when requesting name changes, as extra changes have to be made in such cases. All I can say is that I believe I'm very likely to be an admin by this time tomorrow. However, if it makes things easier for the bureaucrat who carries out this change for me, I'm quite happy not to get my "new tools" until after it has been done. Many thanks. Metanexus

Please change my user name from Metanexus to Candlemelting. I want to change because using this name could imply that I speak for Metanexus officially (which I do not), rather than simply attempting to clarify what I know of the Metanexus Institute mission and work. Thanks.

ASusnjar to Aleksandar ŠušnjarI registered with my current username (Asusnjar) before realizing that it is searchable, appears publically and has its own article. I'm afraid we can only move edits to a nonexistent account. — Dan | Talk 02:54, 22 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, never mind, I think I understand - at first I thought the period was a typo. To be sure, however, could you confirm that the username to which you want them moved is "Jguk."? — Dan | Talk 03:11, 22 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed. I have long wanted to remove my real name from WP credits, hence this request, jguk 07:50, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Might I suggest something less confusing, like
user:Jguk 2 (or something along those lines). That period could easily escape notice, or worse, could be confused with someone impersonating you. Raul654 01:14, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't intend to use the account, just hide my real name a wee bit more! jguk 10:39, 27 November 2005 (UTC)[reply

The edit counter rates me at 1300 edits so far.
Admittedly, there is no pressing necessity.
I created my user account in the beginning of 2005. I did not anticipate that wikipedia allows Google to also search and index the Talk pages, I was quite surprised to start finding myself in Google searches. My current user name is my full name. I'd like better privacy, so if possible please change my user name, so that in due course the Google caches will no longer have pages featuring my name. --
