Arsenal F.C.–Manchester United F.C. rivalry‎

The rivalry between Arsenal and Manchester United is a notable one in English football as both clubs are recognised for having great history and traditions. Although their first competitive match was in October 1894, the rivalry was instigated in 1990 because of a brawl between both teams. In the years that followed Arsenal and Manchester United were fierce domestic rivals, and there was great animosity, but underlying respect between the two clubs. The rivalry at its peak was centered on managers Arsène Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson, and their former club captains Patrick Vieira and Roy Keane.

I'm nominating this as a complete topic, an account of the rivalry between Arsenal and Manchester United. The articles selected for this topic are ones which have shaped and defined the rivalry, hence why the

1979 FA Cup Final and 1948 FA Charity Shield are omitted. It begins with the Old Trafford brawl and ends with the 2005 FA Cup Final. --Lemonade51 (talk) 19:53, 9 November 2017 (UTC)[reply
