Original – Eight graham crackers assembled into a stack, accompanied by a cracker split in half.
Reason
This is Evan-Amos' public domain image of a notable food: the graham cracker, in fact a stack of them! It's in high-res, tastes good, and looks very delicate. The image here is the lead image of the article Graham cracker. It does a great job at illustrating the subject matter. «I'm Aya Syameimaru!I文々。新聞Iuserbako» 05:23, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Looks about as good as the buckwheat picture. -- Veggies (talk) 22:07, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support Very uninteresting in the grand scheme of things, but I can't think of any better pictures of graham crackers. – John M Wolfson (talkcontribs) 22:03, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - Sure. We're here to highlight images that add significantly to articles, not to choose the most exciting topics. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 04:33, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. That's what they look like. One might even argue that a bland photo is appropriate for a deliberately-bland food. —David Eppstein (talk) 04:36, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose modern version is nothing special with a second image that isn't in the article Charlesjsharp (talk) 09:43, 30 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Charles, why do you say "that isn't in the article" !? Just look at the infobox Here. Bammesk (talk) 01:38, 1 May 2020 (UTC) . . . Never mind, I think you mean the buckwheat image [1] introduced by User:Veggies. Which isn't nominated. Bammesk (talk) 02:53, 1 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose I think the buckwheat featured picture that Veggies added as a comparator actually illustrates where this falls short, and how a picture of a simple item can be FP-worthy. The buckwheat FP is clean but natural-looking, with natural-looking shadows especially; and illustrates multiple aspects of a subject (buckwheat, buckwheat flakes, buckwheat crackers) in a pleasing arrangement. By comparison the new image has harsh edges, missing shadows, and only illustrates one aspect of the subject. This is a fine photo, but I think it's very hard to make such a basic food photo FP-worthy, and I think the buckwheat photo shows how it's possible to improve on this.
