Original – The British Royal Navy battlecruiser HMS Hood (51) seen in 1924.
Reason
Large historic photo of HMS Hood (pennant number 51) from 1924. Hood was the last battlecruiser built by the British Royal Navy. Hood was sunk by the German battleship Bismark during World War II.

  • Comment I think that this photo would benefit from restoration - there should be a TIFF version on the SLV's website which can provide the basis of this. Also, note that the photo is the work of Allan C. Green, and not the SLV. Nick-D (talk) 03:55, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
