Wikipedia:Featured picture candidates/Opened Pomegranate

Reason: Despite the fact that there is already a pomegranate FPC (Pomegranate03_edit.jpg^nomination) I believe that this one is different enough, in that it is from a different point of dissection of a pomegranate, that it merits it's own go. This image meets the size guidelines and then some and is very encyclopedic in that it is a high quality shot of the subject and it adds a lot to the article that it is in.

Oppose I love the concept and shot BUT the lighting lets it down. It can easily be reshot with a second source and more diffusion/a tent to remove the big highlights and provide better definition of the shape and form, as it is it seems very flat. Mfield (talk) 18:12, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral: Has encyclopedic value as it displays the contents of the fruit, although the picture itself isn't that well done, as others have said, it looks flat, i'm not too fussed with the lighting though, plus the white background hurts my eyes a bit, although that may be because it's 11pm (in Australia). – Jerry^teps 12:00, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
