  • Possible a caching issue somewhere between you and Wikipedia. I have the same issue too, but if I preview the image at any other size rather than 250px - I get the bright version. -

Tate Gallery's version is actually quite dull, perhaps due to age-related fading. I also see a slight bluish hue there and don't think this was the original state of the painting. Brandmeistertalk 11:56, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I do see what you mean regarding the bluish hue, but I think the current version makes the light background look overexposed. -
