- Comment it is the reproduction of an original industrial design article released to the public in 1898. So wouldn't the IP ownership attach to the 1898 original article, and not the more recent toy? Thus, this would be PD-1923 ; and the original 1898 article would not be protected anyways, being a publicly sold taxicab. -- 65.94.76.126 (talk) 06:24, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- The source doesn't provide any information on the author or the date of the photo, so there's no basis for the assumption that the photo was taken before 1923. In addition, copyright for works with unknown authors lasts for 70 years after publication in the UK, so the photo may or may not have been public domain there by 1996.
