Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is to be re-released on June 1, 2017, with the songs "Penny Lane" and "Strawberry Fields Forever" added. Will it be remixed?

Except that the only person to be trusted with that job is no longer able to do so. A bit of Googling doesn't seem to turn up anything one way or the other. George Martin didn't remix "1+" - Giles Martin did new stereo mixes from the original multi-track tapes (except that the first three songs are in mono), and he did a great job. Yes, they were two of the first three songs recorded for those sessions and it has been reported that the Beatles wanted to include them on the album, but the record company wanted a single since it had been 6 months since they had released anything. I am also wondering where they will go in the sequence. I slightly doubt that they will simply be added to the end (or beginning) as bonus tracks. But if they are inserted into the others, it will be strange to hear the album that way. But it may be more of what the Beatles intended. Basically a fan's fantasy, yes? The original was done in a way that kind of resembled a concert, with an opening number, a playlist, a reprise of the opening number, and an "encore". • Does the OP have a source for the re-release? Canonically, it doesn't make sense since given the 1987-1988 standardization of the Beatles catalog, those two songs already have album representation on
