Tunisian Arabic

What is غرّيم محبوب ? Is it really a sort of tuber (a special mushroom growing underground)? If it is, then which species exactly? HOTmag (talk) 12:52, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The only instances of غريم that google shows me, refer to the family name Grimm.
wikt:محبوب means just "nice, lovely".
Do you have any context suggesting that this is about an underground mushroom? --My another account (talk) 13:07, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not غريم , but rather غرّيم (i.e. with a geminated R). The second word really means "beloved", but the whole expression in Tunisian Arabic is supposed to mean a sort of mushroom - whose species I'd like to know. Unfortunately, I have no written document approving that meaning, However I think Tunisian Arabic speakers can approve it. HOTmag (talk) 13:24, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You might try contacting one of the participating editors listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Tunisia - it seems a better bet than waiting for a passing Tunisian here :-) Alansplodge (talk) 22:10, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Also you can ask this on Arabic Wikipedia (right here) in English. I guess there are some active Tunisian Wikipedians there. Hamid Hassani (talk) 09:14, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I just checked out the page I mentioned above, and saw your question there. :) Hamid Hassani (talk) 09:17, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
