Nomination

Jmanlucas (talk · contribs) – Hello everyone, I'm Jmanlucas and I have been active on Wikipedia since 2015. I have made thousands of edits and created hundreds of new pages since my first creation, Renzo Trivelli. I've specialized in biographies of recent deaths for nearly my entire time here, translating pages from French, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, etc. I've also created my own original pages upon request, such as Gilles Mihalcean. I've had DYK articles such as Gotthilf Fischer, Claude Mercier-Ythier, and Odile Pierre. In addition to my edits, I have had a history of good temperament, as many of my articles have been sent to Draftspace, which I have handled prudently. I current Wikipedia administrators agree with my self-nomination, and I will understand if the feeling is not reciprocated. However, I feel as though I am ready to become an admin. Thank you, Jmanlucas (talk) 23:17, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here: As I nominated myself, obviously I accept. Jmanlucas (talk) 23:43, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Questions for the candidate

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. Please answer these questions to provide guidance for participants:

1. What administrative work do you intend to take part in?
A: I intend to review biographical Wikipedia articles and suggest improvements for said articles. I will review articles for
WP:NPOL
, among others. My particular focus will pertain to French and Francophone biographies, as those have typically been my forte in the past, thanks to my French fluency (although it is not good enough for me to translate English to French in a good sense, grammatically speaking).
2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
A: As recipient no. 2424 of the Precious prize, awarder Gerda Arendt cited my created pages Jokelyn Tienstra, Franciszek Ziejka, Denise Domenach-Lallich, Odile Pierre, and Claude Mercier-Ythier. Given that these pages were mentioned in my award, I would consider these to be my best creations. My favorite creations were Order of Liberation Compagnons, Daniel Cordier, Edgard Tupët-Thomé, and Pierre Simonet.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A: If you check my talk page, you will see that I have been falsely accused of plagiarism on multiple occasions, such as the case of Dalila Ennadre. I believe I handled this accusation with tact, despite the fact that I was concerned about losing my Wikipedia account over the alleged plagiarism. Other than this incident, I have largely avoided conflict in the Wikipedian community, as I feel as though it is essentially never necessary. Hostility of any kind should not be tolerated on Wikipedia.

You may ask optional questions below. There is a limit of two questions per editor. Multi-part questions disguised as one question, with the intention of evading the limit, are disallowed. Follow-up questions relevant to questions you have already asked are allowed.
