It's potentially confusing - I'd never seen it before, and wouldn't know what to make of it if I found it in a page. However, wikitable markup is a total disaster, so in that respect it should probably be kept as a more readable alternative (I find {{!-}} more readable than {{!}}- ). — This, that, and the other (talk) 06:23, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

who said they would be substituted? the suggestion is to replace {{!-}} with {{!}}-, which does the exact same thing, and uses the same number of characters. now, which is more readable is debatable. the same could be said for {{(!}} which is redundant to {{{!}}, but that one isn't deprecated for some reason. 174.56.57.138 (talk) 21:09, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As mentioned, given the fact that we can use {{!}}-, the template does not seem of any use. As for {{(!}}, this seems a little more readable than {{{!}}.--Patrick (talk) 01:07, 21 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Keep while it could easily be replaced by {{!}}- it does have a specific semantic meaning, i.e. that thing you use if you need a table markup in a template. It has only recently been marked as deprecated.--Salix (talk): 11:02, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

keep As above, this has different semantics to {{!}}-. Also there appears to bee no nomination rationale here beyond, "Six years ago, some other editor didn't understand what it was for".

Also censure Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ who has taken it upon himself to start orphaning this template already, even while the TfD is still running. [1] [2] (and on other's userpages, no less). Some of the vast list is here Andy Dingley (talk) 09:56, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  - A boilerplate message to people about a failed proposal (ie. failed speedy move) would seem to be in order, so they can get around to making a full request. (unlike
