I prefer the "chrome on brushed steel" plaque to the blue one. White on black is another colour scheme used on plaques like this, which someone with better skills in this area than me might like to design. A small copy of the logo, centred above the text would fit well on the "chrome on brushed steel" design. Thryduulf 10:31, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just to note, most plaques on historic buildings and other places of history do not have a website on their plaque. Sorry, but i don't really think that is a good idea. Simply south 10:12, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Think about that.. why do you think they don't have websites? -- Chuq 14:18, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Because they don't commemorate websites...? Shouldn't the Mornington Crescent plaque have something similar then? Simply south 15:38, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, my answer was that historic buildings are usually old, and at the time of the buildings construction the world wide web most likely didn't exist, as it is only 15 years old. I guess the real answer is that this proposed plaque isn't anything to do with the site itself being historic. If it wasn't for this website, the plaque would not be proposed, so it would be crazy not to specify the location of the article being commemorated. I'm not familiar with the Mornington Crescent plaque so can't comment on its relation/significance to this. -- Chuq 16:14, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
They also commemorate famous people, forgot to mention. Websites a first? Simply south 16:23, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I prefer the "chrome on brushed steel" as well. It needs to look nice. The blackboard is symbolic, but it could be vandalised :). I'm sure it wouldn't be the end of the world if the plaque wasn't editable. As for the address, perhaps a smaller text size would work out? I really don't know very much about these sorts of things, so take everything I say with a grain of salt.--Planetary 05:09, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If some vandal comes along and adds obscenities to it, you can just revert, as always. Of course, page blanking might be a problem ... :) 81.104.170.167 10:26, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose it might be tricky, since you can't put it on your watchlist, but it's still a great idea, and fits with the wiki entirely. I love it! --Nintendorulez talk 03:32, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dead?

Did this idea die? In any case, I have a strong preference for the first one (blue with normal logo). I don't think the blackboard idea is at all practical. Stevage 13:41, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I assume that many people have lost interest. I agree with you on the blackboard, though: who would replace the chalk? Not a bad idea, mind you, just impractical. timrem 05:46, 2 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Looks pretty dead to me. Probably for the best... Terraxos 03:30, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
