Wikipedia talk:No original research/Examples

The Let's trim our hair in accordance with the socialist lifestyle example confuses me. Why is it an example of original research? Is it because there's no citation for that sentence about medical thought being contrary? If a citation were in place, would the objection of original research go away? Thanks for this example, but I am going delete it because I don't think it's that helpful. I'm not familiar myself with the company or the Wheel of Fortune, and don't know what either has to do with Mario. Is this page an essay (see also:Wikipedia:Policies_and_guidelines#Essays, or a WP policy document, or something else?

I think it is probably an essay. If so, should it have something at the top saying it is an essay? (I don't know the technicalities of how these work.)

The section "Another implied conclusion" contains a list of statements from an previous version of an article and says of these statements:

"Although each statement can be verified and no conclusion is drawn, the section as a whole represents a synthesis. This is because the editors have gathered unrelated details in the same place, possibly to imply that the sinking was the result of a conspiracy."

This seems to be saying that the list is to be considered as a synthesis because of a possible implication that might be drawn, even though no conclusion was drawn. This seems to be too weak an argument to make this count as a clear example of synthesis.
