Comment on the WikiProject X proposal

Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. To say that my link is to spam is slanderous. There are no advertisements on any page threaded. No popups. Nothing. Additionally, the addition of that link to wikipedia was supported by one of the world's experts on the topic of the Monty Hall Problem. These articles seem to be mostly advertising in fashion, for example in Byron Udell it says "one of the nation’s leading life insurance experts", without even mentioning the nation it is referring to and clearly not being neutral ("one of the nation's leading..."). The style of the articles seems like it is ripped from some sort of promotional site extolling the virtues of the company / the CEO. Both articles have been written by User:Dannystern. The images that accompany the articles have been uploaded by the same user, in the case of File:AccuQuote-Logo.png the creator is given as "AccuQuote" linking to Dannystern's user page, in the case of File:Byron-Udell-2013s.jpg as "Byron Udell", also linking to Dannystern's page. Deducing from this that Dannystern is the CEO of Accuquote, Byron Udell, this would clearly both not be neutral articles. Also the relevancy is debatable. According to the article Accuquote, the company commenced operations in 1994, but the article was only created a couple of months ago. Seems weird that nobody wrote an article about this company before now, if it is indeed relevant enough for a Wikipedia article. -- John N. (talk) 18:50, 19 October 2014 (UTC)
