History

In 1886, the Great Northern Railway laid tracks through Willow City on the way to Bottineau. The community's first election took place in 1890, and the city was incorporated in 1906.[5]

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.46 square miles (1.19 km2), all land.[6]

The average household size was 1.94 and the average family size was 2.60.

The median age in the city was 51.2 years. 16% of residents were under the age of 18; 6.1% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 17.1% were from 25 to 44; 34.3% were from 45 to 64; and 26.4% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 54.0% male and 46.0% female.
