The tournament for the Women's Championship of the United States, held the last week in June, 1901, will always be remembered as a record breaker, for there were no less than four Champions past and present on hand to compete for the honor of United States Champion, Miss Atkinson, three times the Champion, Miss Jones, the '99 Champion, Miss Moore and Miss McAteer the then Champion.
