The 1958–59 Karachi defeated Combined Services by 279 runs at the Karachi Parsi Institute. These two teams had contested the 1954–55 final, also won by Karachi.[2]
The final is remembered for the death of
off break bowler. Given Dildar's slow pace, the blow had nothing like the severity of one caused by a fast bowler's delivery, and Abdul was ready to face the next ball when he suddenly collapsed. He did not recover consciousness and died en route to hospital. It is believed he had an undiagnosed heart condition and went into cardiac arrest after the ball hit him.[2]
