The 2011–12 Iraqi First Division League was the 38th season of what is now called the

Iraqi Premier League
.

The season began on Sunday 22 January 2012. In the final round,

Naft Al-Janoob won the group 1 after facing Al-Mosul, while Sulaymaniya won the group 2 after facing Naft Maysan. Both teams were promoted to the Premier League, and qualified for the final match during which the champion is determined.[1] The final match was scheduled for August 14, 2012 at Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad.[2]

In the final match, Sulaymaniya managed to defeat Naft Al-Janoob 2–1 and win the First Division League title.[3]
