On 27 December 2021, Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court acquitted[3] Fenerbahçe executives Aziz Yıldırım, Şekip Mosturoğlu, İlhan Ekşioğlu and others, which made the issue of replaying the match moot on Fenerbahçe side and they posted an announcement about their application to the Turkish Football Federation on 30 December.[4] On Beşiktaş side, Emre Karadağ, Beşiktaş deputy chairman, declared that they would be willing to compete.[5] The Turkish Football Federation president Nihat Özdemir said that the issue would be under review in the board meeting, also that he supports the idea of replaying the match.[6]
