Ashley is a city in Washington County, Illinois, United States. The population was 536 at the 2010 census.[3]
The village was named after Colonel L. W. Ashley, a railroad division engineer.[4]
Geography
According to the 2010 census, Ashley has a total area of 1.122 square miles (2.91 km2), of which 1.1 square miles (2.85 km2) (or 98.04%) is land and 0.022 square miles (0.06 km2) (or 1.96%) is water.[5]

In the city, the population was spread out, with 27.6% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 21.0% from 45 to 64, and 14.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.7 males.
