For his services, Sir Atul was appointed a CIE in the 1919 Birthday Honours list[5] and knighted with the KCIE in the 1925 New Year Honours list.,[6] He was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of the Star of India (KCSI) on 8 July 1930,[7] and was appointed a Knight Grand Commander of the Order of the Indian Empire (GCIE) in the New Year Honours of 1933.[8]
Personal life
Chatterjee first married Vina Mookerjee and had two daughters, Reva Violet Chatterjee (1901–1977)[9] and Vera Chatterjee (died in the post-First World War flu epidemic). Vina died young soon after Vera's birth.
