Babla Mehta is an Indian film playback singer, composer and audio engineer from Delhi, India. In the 1990s, his career flourished as a playback singer for movies, primarily focusing on bhajans and Indian classical music. Over his career, he has recorded over 250 songs and 10 solo albums.^[1] He had also released albums with his music, starting from the late 1980s. He had also performed live shows in India ^[2]as well as in Canada, US and South Africa.^[3]

Babla Mehta is best-known for his singing in the following

Bollywood movies: Tahalka (1992), Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin (1991) and Jeene Do (1990).^[4]

Career

As a Singer

He has sung songs and bhajans with Anuradha Paudwal, another Indian playback singer.

"Tere Mere Hoton Pe" with

Nadeem-Shravan, Rajesh Roshan, Bappi Lahiri, Anu Malik, and various other. Some of the blockbusters in which he sang were Chandni, Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nahi and Sadak. He also sung devotional songs, such as Bajrang Baan.^[5]

As a Composer

Among his many compositions are four poems penned by Ex-Prime Minister

Atal Behari Vajpayee in 2011, which were performed live by Babla twice on Atalji's Birthday in New Delhi: Sapna Toot Gaya (2011), GeetNahinGataHoon (2011), Tan Par Pehra (2012), and Kadam Badha Kar Chalna Hoga (2012) and also Babla Mehta has composed many commercials. He has also worked for a movie, Wounded (2007), as a composer.^[6]
