Barwick is a city divided by the county line between
History
Barwick had its start in the early 1890s when the railroad was extended to that point.[4] A post office has been in operation at Barwick since 1894.[5] The community was named after R. H. Barwick, a Primitive Baptist leader.[6] Barwick was incorporated by the Georgia General Assembly as a town in 1903.[7]
Geography
Barwick is located at 30°54′N 83°44′W / 30.900°N 83.733°W (30.8921, −83.7384).[8] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.73 square miles (1.9 km2), of which 0.031 square miles (0.08 km2), or 4.16%, is water.[9]

At the census of 2000, there were 444 people, 181 households, and 110 families residing in the town.[2] By 2020, its population declined to 363.
