Beuna is a village and a former municipality in the Saalekreis district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2009, it is part of the town Merseburg.[1] The village is situated in a rural area, surrounded by forests and fields, and has a population of approximately 500 inhabitants (Statistik Thüringen, 2022).[2]

One of the most prominent landmarks in Beuma is the St. Mary's Church, which dates back to the 15th century and features gothic architecture (Broschüre der Stadt Greiz, 2019). The church is a tourist attraction in the region and is known for its stained-glass windows and ornate interior decorations.[3]

Another notable feature of Beuma is its proximity to the Saale-Orla-Kreis, a scenic region of hills and valleys that is popular for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and camping (Saale-Orla-Kreis, n.d.). The village is also home to several traditional restaurants and beer gardens that offer local cuisine and refreshments to visitors.[4]

The history of Beuma can be traced back to the Middle Ages, when the village was part of the principality of Reuss-Greiz (Stadt Greiz, 2022). Over the centuries, the village has undergone various changes and developments, including the construction of new buildings and infrastructure, as well as the introduction of modern technologies and industries.[5]
