Born in

Chinese City Games in 2011. In 2012 he improved his best to 2.24 m (7 ft 4 in) and came twelfth at the national event.[1]

Bi had his breakthrough year in 2013. He cleared 2.20 m (7 ft 2+12 in) at three successive meetings on the

Mutaz Essa Barshim and in poor weather conditions, he won the gold medal at the 2013 Asian Athletics Championships by virtue of a jump-off.[2] This earned him a place at the 2013 World Championships in Athletics, but he failed to register a valid mark.[3]
