Bidupur is a community development block in the Vaishali district in the Indian state of Bihar.[3] Bidupur is one of the 16 blocks of Vaishali.[4] Kacchi dargah-Bidupur bridge will become the largest bridge of India in 2024.[5] Bidupur is fastest developing after Hajipur in vaishali.There are 116 villages in Bidupur block.[6]
History
Bidupur is a place of historical importance. One of Gautam Buddha's disciple Anand has got parinirvana here. There is a bhinda in Madhurapur where many things of ancient history have been found. Many early paintings, scriptures, and stones are there.[7] Every year after Durga Puja a mela and kirtan are organised to remember Anand. The kashthariya sahashralingam mandir in Bidupur is also a place of historical importance.[8] There have been plans to expand Patna to Greater Patna, which would entail absorbing Bidupur.[9]

Chechar Village Complex
As per Mahanivannasutem & Buddhist literature this place was known as 'Kotigram in Buddhist period - where Lord Buddha used to take rest on his way to Vaishali, after crossing the Ganga from Patliputra side. Anand, the famous desciple of Lord Buddha, attained 'Maha Parinirvana' close to this place. His mortal remains are said to be enshrined under a Buddhist Stupa at Bajidpur village. This is the place were king Vishal founded the city of Vishalpuri' after his own name. And this was the place where sage Vishwamitra got down from the boat on the northern bank of the Ganga after crossing from Rajgir side and stayed for the night, vice cantos 45 to 49 of Valmiki Ramayana.
The famous Rishipatni Diti (wife of great sage Kashyap) resided here and during her illness she was nursed by Lord Indra, the king of gods. Here were born the 'Marudganas' from the womb of Diti. (Vide Valmiki Ramayana Aadi Knad cantos 45 to 49). At this time this place was known as 'Kushpallav Vana'. In this village complex 9 Buddhist Stupas are in exsitence 3 Stupas in Chechar Village, 3 Stupa in Kutubpur village, one Stupa in Bajidpur village, one Stupa in Mathurapur & one Stupa in Navanagar. According to famous Chinese traveller Hue-T-sang - in Gupta period (320 AD-550 century AD) this place was known as Shewtpur (phi-to Polo)
