Geography

Brooks is located in northern Bullitt County. Its northern border is the county line, with Louisville/Jefferson County to the north. The eastern edge of the CDP is formed by Interstate 65, with access from Exit 121 (John Harper Highway). It is 15 miles (24 km) south of downtown Louisville via I-65.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.5 square miles (11.7 km²), of which 0.031 square miles (0.08 km²), or 0.66%, is water.^[3]

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 25.8% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 31.7% from 25 to 44, 27.6% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females, there were 99.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.1 males.
