Burak Bekdil (1966 – 21 October 2023) was a Turkish columnist who wrote for the daily

James Cuno, art historian and President of the J. Paul Getty Trust, describes Bekdil as "a frequent critic of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan".[2] In 2002, he received an eighteen-month suspended sentence for "insulting the judiciary".[3]

Bekdil died on 21 October 2023, at the age of 57.[4]
