Campbellsport is an

Edinburg meet. Much of the area is now occupied by the adjacent West Branch State Park and Michael J. Kirwan Reservoir, which were created in 1965.[1]

History

A post office was in operation at Campbellsport from 1841 until 1903.[2] The community was named for General Campbell, an early settler, and for its location as a port along the Pennsylvania and Ohio Canal.[3]
