Carmen F. Amato Jr. is an American Republican Party politician serving as a member of the New Jersey Senate for the 9th legislative district, having taken office on January 9, 2024.
Biography
A resident of the Bayville section of Berkeley Township, New Jersey, Amato attended Central Regional High School and Ocean County College.[1]
Elective office
Amato served a trustee on the board of education of the Berkeley Township School District from 1993 to 2000 and of the Central Regional School District from 2000 to 2005. He represented Ward 2 on the Berkeley Township Council from 2006 to 2011 and served as the township's mayor from 2012 to 2023.[1]
