The common koels are three species of
conspecific
under the scientific name Eudynamys scolopaceus, but are increasingly treated as separate species:
- Asian koel, Eudynamys scolopaceus.
- Black-billed koel, Eudynamys melanorhynchus.
- Pacific koel, Eudynamys orientalis.
- Australian koel, Eudynamys (orientalis) cyanocephalus.
