The Department of Criminal Intelligence (DCI), formerly the Central Criminal Intelligence Department, was the
Sir Harold Stuart was appointed as the first director of DIC.[2] Curzon also established a provincial equivalent agency, the Central Investigation Department (CID) in all provinces of British India.[1]
