Description
English: Very high magnification micrograph of a cholesterol embolus in a medium sized artery of the kidney. This is also known as atheroembolic renal disease and atheroembolism.[1] Kidney biopsy. H&E stain.

The image shows numerous intra-arterial cholesterol clefts with an associated giant cell reaction.
