This image is incorrect. The diameter of studs (knobs) is 4.8mm. This can be proven by understanding that a plate (thin piece) can fit sideways between 2 of the studs. A plate has a height of 3.2mm so the gap between 2 studs must also be 3.2mm (or more likely 3.22mm for tolerance).
