Fort Ann is a

Glens Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area.[2] The village population was 484 at the 2010 census.[3] The name is derived indirectly from Queen Anne
and the local fortification built in 1757 and named after her.

The village was incorporated in 1820. The Champlain Canal, completed in 1823, passes through the village. Later, the Delaware & Hudson Railroad came.

Old Stone House Library was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.[4]

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.78 km2), all land.

Fort Ann is located adjacent to the town lines of Kingsbury and Hartford.

In addition to U.S. 4 and NY 149, County Road 4 enters the village.

The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 97.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.2 males.
