Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1] It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) north-west of Mrągowo and 50 km (31 mi) east of the regional capital Olsztyn
.

As a result of the

League of nations, which resulted in 220 votes to remain in Germany and none for Poland.[2]
Thus the village remained part of Germany until 1945.
