George Richmond Langdale OBE (11 March 1916 – 24 April 2002) was a schoolmaster, writer on mathematics and an English cricketer who played for Derbyshire from 1936 to 1937 and for Somerset from 1946 to 1949. He also played for the minor counties Norfolk and Berkshire.
Langdale was born in Thornaby-on-Tees in Yorkshire. He first played cricket for Derbyshire in the 1936 season taking part in three games and helping them to capture their first and only County Championship victory. In the 1937 season he played one first team game and then for the Derbyshire second team. On 1 September 1938 Langdale became a teacher at the City of Norwich School[1]
In 1946 Langdale left
Langdale published a number of papers on mathematical subjects and teaching, often using cricket examples.
Langdale died in Holbeck, Leeds in at the age of 86.
