Equipment

The Green Line is among the trains operating in the luxurious category. It features an AC Parlor Class that resembles the look of a luxury bus. It has two parlor cars, five Business coaches, and six AC Standard coaches. It also has four to five economy-class coaches.[4]

Suspension

In the wake of the

2022 Pakistan Floods, the train's operations remained suspended since 27 August 2022.[4] With the floodwater receding and rehabilitation of effected train tracks completing, Pakistan Railway announced to resume Green Line's operations in December 2022.[5]

Upgradation

On 28 November 2022, 46 high-speed coaches were delivered to Pakistan Railways by the China Railway Construction Corporation as per the agreement signed in 2021. These modern coaches were employed first in the Green Line.[6]

Reinauguration

Green Line Express was re-inaugurated by Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif on 27 January 2023 [7]
