Greenacres (formerly, Green Acres) is a census-designated place[3] in Kern County, California.[2] It is located 6.25 miles (10 km) west of Bakersfield,[4] at an elevation of 381 feet (116 m).[2] The population was 5,566 at the 2010 census.
Greenacres was founded in 1930.[4]

According to the United States Census Bureau, Greenacres covers 1.992 square miles (5.16 km2), all of it land.

The median age was 37.9 years. For every 100 females, there were 99.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.1 males.
There were 2,062 housing units at an average density of 1,034.9 per square mile, of the occupied units 1,455 (75.0%) were owner-occupied and 485 (25.0%) were rented. The homeowner vacancy rate was 1.9%; the rental vacancy rate was 5.3%. 4,059 people (72.9% of the population) lived in owner-occupied housing units and 1,504 people (27.0%) lived in rental housing units.
