Hamid Chitchian (Persian: حمید چیت‌چیان, born 21 March 1957) is an Iranian politician and the former intelligence head. He had been energy minister of Iran from 15 August 2013 until 20 August 2017.[2]

Early life

Chitchian was born in

East Azerbaijan, around 1957.[3][4]

Career

Chitchian joined the

Mahmoud Ahmedinejad.[5]At the same period he was a member of the managerial board of the Iran Power Generation Transmission and Distribution Management Company (TAVANIR) and the Energy Organization.[5] He was also one of the senior advisors to Ahmedinejad.[7]
